Sleep Apnea Device Examples
There are more than 100 different sleep apnea devices manufactured by dozens of dental labs. Even though there are many devices to select from, a trained qualified dentist will select an appliance which will have the greatest chance of success in being comfortable while treating your obstructive sleep apnea. Many factors play a role in what we select, i.e., number of teeth, tooth grinding, size of mouth, just to name a few!
Insurance can play a role in the type of appliance we select. For example, Medicare has a list of appliances which have been approved by them. A qualified dentist MUST select an appliance from this list. Fortunately, the list provides many options!
